Terms of Service — HeicToPdf
The rules of the road for using HeicToPdf's free browser-based HEIC to PDF converter.
Terms at a Glance
Plain-English summary of the rules below. The full text wins if there is a conflict.
- Free for personal use. You can use HeicToPdf for personal, non-commercial conversion of photos you have the right to use.
- No account required. There is no registration, no subscription, and no payment for the basic tool.
- Your responsibility. You are responsible for the images you upload. Do not use the tool on documents you do not have the right to use.
- Provided as-is. The tool is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it working but cannot guarantee zero downtime.
- No warranty on output. We are not responsible for damage caused by a converted PDF. Always keep a copy of your original photos.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing or using HeicToPdf (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; the latest version will always be posted on this page.
2. Eligibility and Account
You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
The basic Service does not require an account. Should we ever introduce accounts, additional terms will apply and we will ask for your consent before any data is collected.
3. Acceptable Use of the Service
HeicToPdf is a conversion tool. Use it for what it is for.
You may use the Service to convert HEIC and HEIF photos that you own or have the legal right to convert. You may not use the Service for any unlawful or prohibited activity, including (but not limited to):
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service for any user who violates these rules, with or without notice.
- Converting images that contain illegal content, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that incites violence, or content that infringes intellectual property rights.
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service.
- Using automated means (bots, scrapers, headless browsers) to load the Service at a rate that would interfere with other users.
- Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the Service or the data contained therein.
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems or networks.
4. Your Content and Your Responsibilities
You retain all ownership rights to the images you convert using the Service. Because processing happens entirely in your browser, we never see, store, or transmit your images. You are solely responsible for the images you choose to convert, including:
- Confirming that you have the legal right to use and convert the images.
- Ensuring the images do not violate any law, regulation, or third-party right.
- Maintaining a backup of your originals. The Service outputs a PDF; the original HEIC files on your device are not modified.
5. Intellectual Property
We own the tool, you own your content.
The Service, including its source code, design, branding, copy, and any documentation, is owned by HeicToPdf and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works of the Service or any part of it without our prior written permission.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the Service to you. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
6. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may link to or display content from third parties (for example, advertisements served by Google AdSense or fonts loaded from Google Fonts). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party site or service. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that defects will be corrected.
We do not warrant the quality, accuracy, or legality of the PDF documents you generate. You are responsible for verifying the output before relying on it for any purpose.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall HeicToPdf, its owners, employees, contractors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall be limited to the amount you paid us to use the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $100, whichever is greater. Because the basic Service is free, this cap will typically be USD $0.
9. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless HeicToPdf and its owners, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. The provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall do so, including (without limitation) ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which HeicToPdf operates, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall be resolved first by good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, the parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual-property rights or confidential information.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page, with a revised “Last updated” date at the top. If a change is material, we will surface a notice on the home page for at least 30 days before the new terms take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Contact
For questions about these Terms, please contact us at support@heicpdftools.com. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
