Cookie Policy — HeicToPdf

The exact cookies HeicToPdf sets, who sets them, and how to turn them off.

Cookies at a Glance

By default, we set a single essential cookie. Everything else is opt-in.

  • 1 essential cookie Remembers your cookie consent choice so the banner does not reappear on every page.
  • 0 analytics cookies by default Analytics cookies are only set after you click “Accept”. We do not set them on a declined banner.
  • 0 advertising cookies by default AdSense cookies are only set after you click “Accept” and only if an ad is actually rendered on the page.
  • Browser-controlled You can delete all cookies we set from your browser at any time. The consent banner will reappear on your next visit.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve performance, and provide information to site owners. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called “first-party cookies”. Cookies set by other companies (for example, analytics or advertising providers) are called “third-party cookies”.

In addition to cookies, we use similar technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage. For the purposes of this policy, references to cookies include these equivalent technologies unless stated otherwise.

2. How We Use Cookies

Cookies are grouped into three categories, each with a different default behaviour.

We use cookies for the following purposes. The default for categories 2 and 3 is “do not set” — they only land on your device after you click “Accept” in the consent banner.

2.1 Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the basic functioning of the site. They cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as setting your cookie preferences, logging in, or submitting forms. You can configure your browser to block these cookies, but parts of the site will then not work.

NamePurposeLifetime

2.2 Analytics Cookies

These cookies let us count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of the site. They help us understand which pages are popular and how visitors move through the site. All information is aggregated and anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies, we will not know when you have visited our site.

HeicToPdf does not set any analytics cookies today. We use a privacy-respecting measurement solution that does not rely on persistent identifiers. If we ever introduce analytics cookies in the future, they will be opt-in — they will only be set after you click “Accept” in the consent banner — and this table will be updated.

2.3 Advertising Cookies

These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They do not store directly personal information but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.

Advertising cookies are only set after you click “Accept” in the consent banner, and only if an advertisement is actually rendered on the page you are viewing. On pages without ads, no advertising cookies are set even after consent.

3. Specific Cookies We Set

Below is the full list of cookies that may be set on your device when you use HeicToPdf. We update this table whenever a new cookie is added or an existing one is changed.

4. How to Manage and Delete Cookies

You have three independent layers of control: our banner, your browser, and the third-party opt-out pages.

4.1 Our in-page consent banner

The consent banner is shown on your first visit and any time you delete your cookies. You can revisit the choice at any time by clicking the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer (if enabled) or by clearing the cookie-consent entry from your browser storage.

4.2 Browser controls

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies. The relevant pages for the most common browsers are:

Be aware that blocking all cookies will affect the functionality of many websites, not just HeicToPdf, and may break features you expect.

  • Chrome Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Firefox Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Edge Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data.

4.3 Third-party opt-out pages

You can opt out of personalized advertising from many providers through dedicated industry pages:

  • Google Ads Settings https://adssettings.google.com — disable personalized ads from Google services.
  • Your Ad Choices (DAA) http://optout.aboutads.info — opt out of interest-based advertising from DAA-participating companies.
  • Your Online Choices (EDAA) https://www.youronlinechoices.com — opt out of interest-based advertising for EU/UK users.
  • Global Privacy Control Modern browsers support a “Global Privacy Control” signal that we honour automatically.

5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal that some browsers and privacy extensions send. When GPC is enabled in your browser, we treat it as a decline of all non-essential cookies, and we will not set analytics or advertising cookies until you explicitly accept them through the in-page banner.

Legacy “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals are also respected, although most browsers have replaced DNT with GPC.

6. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page, with a revised “Last updated” date at the top. If a change is material — for example, the introduction of a new category of cookies — we will re-show the consent banner so you can review your choice.
